Morning Classes

As I write in our computer class right now, fully realising that it's not something I should actually be doing, this activity seems really fun.

So I started by getting up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Totally grumpy, very hungry and absolutely not wanting to attend class. Thus I ended up doing what people like me do in such problematic situations....I dragged my sorry ass to college, music blaring through my earphones, being able to see practically nothing (since as usual, I felt sleep deprived during the ungodly hours, early in the morning).

Ma'am seems to have run out of projects for us to work on, so the idea was to catch up on some much delayed blogging. My partner here is literally falling asleep with her chin on her palm, elbow on the table....complete with the drool act and scary hair. Believe me... in classes like this, observing her is almost like one of the most interesting activities of all time.

So what's going on in class can literally be explained in a few words:

  1. Girls gossipping about some year old controversy
  2. Election campaigning
  3. People playing games on their respective computers
  4. Majhong's background music playing somewhere as someone goes on scoring points
  5. My partner still drooling
  6. A few others actually working
  7. Farewell planning
  8. Ma'am shopping for stuff on MyntraImage result for bored in class gifs
Regular 8:30 class in the morning with practically no one doing what they are supposed to. In colleges like ours these are forbidden pleasures, dished out to us poor students only occasionally. This isn't half as bad as nodding off to sleep in some theory class. Quite pleasant for a change.

(P.S. : It took time to upload this one because Ma'am was done browsing clothes online before I could hit the "Publish" button. )
Cheers!

6 Confessions of a Coffeeholic

The fresh scent of coffee, wafting in the air as soon as you open the can of beans/powder is one of the great ways to start any day, in my not so humble opinion. It takes time to master the art of coffee making, especially when it comes to that particular flavor, which you prefer and that too early in the morning, every single morning.

My obsession for coffee began while I was studying in the higher grades, trying to keep up during exam times to study late into the night (because that is when we ACTUALLY study, no matter what the experts ask us to do). There are so many different kinds of beans out there, combinations of which can lead to an even interesting and sometimes not so exciting flavors. My point is, you need to try it to know it.
I am a die hard coffee lover and here are my confessions:
1. One cup a day is never enough:
I'm sure this stands true for every coffee drinker out there. How can simply one cup of that steaming, bubbling, aromatic beverage, ever be enough? One…

How to Groom a Groom Classes (Part1)

Ethics classes at Loreto college, in the third year, are different.

Quite... different...

As a young lady, the extent of your education or skill set should not depend upon how well you can cook "butter chicken" or how nicely you drape your saree.

To be honest, I can't do either very well.

But the bottom line is that I'm willing to learn all of that, for my sake and not for the purpose of bagging the next best groom on an online match-making website.

Gender based qualifications required for marriage: Sister (our principal), started class by reciting a few posts put up on a certain match making website.

Interestingly...the guy's resume would go something like this...."Tall banker/engineer/doctor/etc. earning --- of 40 years, coming from well educated Brahmin/Kshatriya family. Looking for fair complexioned, 5'4" or taller girl between ages 20-30, coming from good Brahmin family."

And vice versa for the prospective bride's ad.

Therefore... In …

Little Things

Have you ever wondered exactly what makes your mornings good or your sleep a peaceful one? Why a small text can make your day or how an old friend can bring out your smile? What makes you happy and why do you need those regular encouragements from people that matter (or sometimes even form those who apparently do not)?
To start making sense, I would now have to narrate to you this one particular experience that lead me to think on this matter for a relatively longer period of time...
The Grumpy Walker: Yeah, that's me. For my dear readers, here I am going to specify that when I'm in one of those moods, I prefer a walk. So a few days back when I was upset about some or the other completely obscene matter, I'd chosen to walk it off on the streets of Gariahat Market, just because. The vendors shouting out new offers along with the regular crowds didn't seem to be helpful either.  As I headed down towards main market from Golpark, I got slowed down due to the early mornin…
